An abstract painting does not resemble anything in particular, although it may be understood to represent a variety of thoughts, ideas, beliefs and associations. Abstract art works have designs, shapes or colors that may not look like specific physical objects so they can be a lot harder to understand than representational artworks: all you see are shapes, colors, lines and patterns. In this collection of abstract art we have also included paintings in which forms are still recognizable but have been simplified.
