Genderfuck I - IV explores the notions of traditional portrait painting of beautified men and women, where men have always seemed to be depicted as the dominating individual. It questions the traditional male gaze associated with these portraits and the subjects they represent. By ‘re-dressing’ the male as female within a male body I try to deconstruct the very notions surmounted with the dominating male, and the ‘power’ they seem to perceive they represent, as well as, the notions of ‘perfect’ beauty and the bias thoughts that accompany these depicted portraits.
