Motivation: I wanted to use the unpredictable method of dying the satin with ink to create a variety of patterns. These patterns were then divided into a loose gradient and were then stretched across a frame. This act of stretching and wrapping is intended to represent the issues that we envelop ourselves with and the need we have for someone or something in our lives to lighten our burdens and make us feel safe.
