This work formed part of a larger body entitled "Toeing the Line," which was concerned with issues of violence, absence, the senses of loss and longing and the reconstructed realities (nostalgia and worship) that follow them. The birds in this work have their origins in the tragic tale of Ectopistis Migratorius, more commonly known as the Passenger Pigeon: once the most prolific bird on earth, now extinct thanks to the hand of humankind.
