Description: A painting experimenting with a variety of textures painted in oil paint and with salt crystals grown on top.

Motivation: Goya’s “Sleep of Reason” was the inspiration for this work. The figure situated on the right hand side is directly lifted from the Goya’s artwork. The painting is a representation of the chaotic space that we both inhabit and create in our minds.

I like to draw from internal struggles and places of darkness for my work. The art I make is a reflection of my personal journey through life. The process of experimentation with materials is also important for me as it is an investigation of both the materials and of the self.
